Lisa Leitner is a visual artist based in Baltimore, Maryland. Leitner graduated Summa Cum Laude from MICA in 2022 with a BFA; she majored in General Fine Arts with a double minor in Sustainability & Social practice as well as Book Arts. She integrates a variety of processes, working with a range of physical and digital media. Leitner is inspired by the instinct to make and capture special moments with her paintbrush and camera, whether through portraiture, landscape, or experimental art pieces. She has shown mixed media work in the MAT undergraduate Art Ed juried show as well as paintings in Senior Thesis group shows “Onward” and “Combustion.” Among other recognition she has received, she was awarded a Scholastic Art & Writing Gold Key and granted a Competitive Scholarship award from MICA in 2020. She is continuing her studies as a MA candidate in the Art Education (MAT) program at Maryland Institute College of Art, expecting to graduate in spring of 2023. In addition to freelance work and private commissions, she currently teaches online watercolor and drawing classes at Artworks Fine Arts Studio in Bethesda, MD, and interns at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in Baltimore, MD.
